DONT STOP ME NOW

Christmas day, was spent with Elaine, Melanie and Jason (12). Jason had a Nintendo DS Lite, so he was fairly quite for the day.

I bought myself, OLYMPUS, a high quality, voice recorder, for taking notes, on my travel, plus recording any interviews, I have to make, or meetings, I attend. I just have to spend some time “getting the hang” of this new device, it is very small (like a small mobile telephone) records 4 levels of excellent quality and is computer
Connectable.
During the week, it has been, the usual, watching TV, visiting family and (most importantly) investigating the travel options for the coming year.

Managed to visit the cinema, about mid-week. Saw Flushed Away http://www.flushedaway.com/flash/index.html Very funny film from the Ardman stable.

A very tiring day was booked for Thursday at The Millenium Stadium in Cardiff. http://www.millenniumstadium.com/197_211.php
Usually the home of major RUGBY matches, as well as other large events, was transformed into a indoor theme park “Funderworld”. http://www.funderworld.com/ A very impressive sight, and all indoors. I will be uploading a short film clip, of it, to YouTube http://www.youtube.com/my_videos very soon. No doubt a review of my visit, may, appear on http://www.disabledholidayinfo.org.uk/notices.htmhttp://www.disabledholidayinfo.org.uk/notices.htm (notice board). Now to go and download, the many, photos and start renaming them, for easy identification, read and answer emails

No Coleshill this week, it is shut over the holiday, I forgot, and rang the bus driver, at home, to check he would pick me up OPPS !!!!!

DONT STOP ME NOW

ONE WEEK TO GO !!!

I had a tooth out, so didn’t go to Coleshill, this week. So went for a spin to Llanelli, with Elaine. She was going to the hospital, for a check up and remove the stitches, after her knee operation.
We then had a quick look around Trostre shops and Tesco
.Went in to Carmarthen, on Saturday morning, to see the local Food exhibition, in Nott Square and Civic Hall. Very busy, all come from local producers, it was very interesting
The inside stalls (Civic Hall) was down stairs, but they have a stair lift, for wheelchairs, bit like going on a “slow fair ride”.

I have a “SECRET” to keep (for now) all I am going to say, is some words for you to put together—BBC, opportunity, ??????????

It was very cold, on Sunday, but “braved it” ( Being in a wheelchair, you feel the cold more, as your legs don’t get the movement, Most people don’t realise this “OBIVOUS” thing!!) went to the Haverfordwest, Sunday (?!) market, not so busy as I thought it would be?????.
Did buy a book, about “WEB DESIGN”. The more information, the better, I think, so when I have time, (when there are more than 24 hours in the day) I will look into this. For now I will send any (travel) reviews to various websites. And a volume by John Simpson (the BBC reporter).
Then went up to Tesco, to warm up and have a cup of tea, then quick whip around the store, very busy, here.

Only 3 weeks to go until I go to Lanzarote (escape this dreary weather, top up the tan, update the “brain information”

Got to say “BEST WISHES” to everyone, who I know, knows me, reads this, (enemies)and FRIENDS.

DONT STOP ME NOW

Friday, (you know the procedure!!) I had a visit from the speech and language therapist, she went through some tongue exercises, that I will do over the Christmas break, I am due to see her at the end of January (after my trip to Lanzarote).

Saturday, we went to, test drive, the Volkswagon Touran, very nice, very roomy inside and comfortable. Worth the £700 initial (advance payment), via motability. On the way back we went into Haverfordwest, to test drive the Ford Focus C-max, another nice car. The only small concern I have is the floor of the boot has a large “lip” when you open the tail gate. The Touran is totally flat (plus more room).

Went to cinema, on Sunday, to see “Driving Lessons” http://www.sonyclassics.com/drivinglessons/ Typical, when I got home (doing a bit of catching up on Sunday evening television) the film was advertised, to be shown, on TV, next week!!

Dentist Monday afternoon, to see about this toothache, before Christmas and my trip to Lanzarote, they gave me Antibiotics to take and return on Wednesday.

Tuesday, a council official and a local builder, came to visit me, to see how they can “correct” the “Disability Facilities Grant”, that we`ve had done extremely badly. Now, it seems “they realise that my concerns”, that I have been saying, for a long time, and it now will take a lot , of work and expense, to put right.

Back to the dentist, Wednesday, Have a tooth out. Before my appointment, we had lunch in wetherspoons Carmarthen http://www.jdwetherspoon.co.uk/pubfinder/details.php?OutletNumber=180 . Carmarthen isn’t the best place to go in a wheelchair, as it is very hilly and a very old town.

Today is the Christmas lunch at Coleshill Social centre, but I am not going, as my gum is a bit sore (wonder why??)

A very good “get together”, A few new, moremembers.

Some good suggestions for future events, meets and fundraising, were thrown in the mix.
